The goat from Hjo

1
Ruben Hellberg, more known as get, hasn't really made his absolute international breakthrough yet, and not many people outside of Sweden has therefore found out the potential of the Swedish star player. With a history of clans like Divine and caYa/e-star, and latest Team Fastlane, get has been just under the border that seperates the absolute, acknowledged elite with the semi-elite. Right now, because of the latest happenings, get is, however, in the centre of everything. get is on everybody's lips.
After the win against strong SK in the final of the Swedish WCG qualifier it has become clear that the new Speedlink team surely is a successful one. From being somewhat of a random, but naturally still one of the better ones, player in Sweden, get is now – together with his team-mates – going to represent Sweden in World Cyber Games in Singapore next month.

get and Team Speedlink

Yesterday it became clear that you will represent Sweden in WCG. Congratulations! How does it feel?

Super! It feels extremely great that the practise has proven itself fruitful.

Of course we will talk alot about your impressive WCG qualifier win later in the interview, but let us first talk about yourself and Team Speedlink! When Rwa showed interest in you joining up with his new team – how did your thoughts go? Was it an obvious choice?

Rwa and I have for a long time talked about how fun it would've been to play together again, and since Fastlane was really inactive I hardly had any doubt at all!

It didn't happen so much in Team Fastlane, would you call the clan an unsuccessful project?

Now thinking back on that time I can't find anything negative. It was fruitful to be playing with that team, they're still good friends of mine! chea is one of the greatest persons I've met! Something that perhaps was a little sad was that we had to play with two stand-ins in Brazil where we ended 5-6th. But as I said, it was a really cool time in Fastlane!

What were the contributing factors that in the end made it clear that it wouldn't work out in Team Fastlane? Was it something that you could've changed, you think?

Of course it was a loss when one of the team members left and joined NiP, that resulted in reorganizing in the team, which felt a bit melancholic.

What is your goal with your CS career? Has it always been the same?

An original question which demands a classic answer! I want to have fun, and that's how it has always been.

How much would it take for you to quit playing Counter-Strike?

I haven't even thought about quitting once, so it would take alot.

What do you think about your new team, Team Speedlink, as a unit in comparison to your earlier clans? Do you see any aspect in your playing that seperates you from any other clan?

It's a really cool mixture of different kinds of players in Team Speedlink, that's something I've never felt in another team. It's a great will to play and show results in the team. Fighting spirit and identity, as the minister would've said!

Tell us about your team mates! How are they like to play with, what do they mean to the team and how are they as persons?

Rwa is as I mentioned one of my very best friends, so it feels great to be playing with him again. Rwa takes us through the wet and the dry! For better for worse!

Oops is the fussiest person in the team! Outside the computer world he dedicates a lot of time on horses and his girlfriend. He also often brags about he being a "boss" on a, according to him, very successful computer company! As a player Joppe contributes with smart moves and a sharp aim.

nikolaus is our little Internet hero, who in later days have shown that he can perform on LAN. His personality usually apprehends as a bit cocky, but almost always it's just about a very bad sence of humour that lies behind the cocky front!

miniw is our very own tough guy, who won't say no to enjoy a cigarrett in front of the computer, which he later stubs out on his own arm. He is as many already know a very, very good player! He also dedicates a lot of time to his girl aside from the computer.

In order to make the list complete we let Rwa give his thoughts about get.

Rwa: Ruben is a player who always give 100 % to the team, he often makes things that you don't understand how important they are until you actually play with him. He has a great playing intelligence, and also he's our strat-caller on Inferno instead of me, I hate that map. :) He's a rather tricky player!

You are in an important 2on2 situation in the WCG final. Who in the team would you like to have by your side the most?

I think I'd choose Rwa, I can put all pressure on him.

Tell us a little bit about your own playing style. What kind of player are you?

I guess I'm not the one who makes the most eye-catching things on HLTV. I'm calm and collected, and often make some tricky tactical directives during games!

Could you tell us something about your nick (get = goat in Swedish) and how you made it up?

I actually don't remember when I made it up. get has been my nick since the very first time I entered a public server. Don't really believe there's any special thought behind it!

How does a typical day in get's life look like?

I wake up around 7:00, take a shower, eat breakfast and try to get myself to school. When I'm there I try to do as much good as possible, so I can take an early bus home with good conscience! When I'm home I devote some time to the computer, perhaps trying to find some PCW to the night if necessary. Then I listen to some music, drink some coffee and look at some nice TV series. When everybody in the team arises it's CS that's on the schedule!

You won, with Calippo as a stand-in, Rendezvous last weekend. After many theories it would feel great to find out the reason behind your clan name, 211019. Could you shed some light upon this?

That name is confidential. Would the director of "Lost" answer what those numbers were about?

What is your impression of your play during the Rendezvous weekend as a whole?

Things went on nicely and we had fun together. Something that wasn't that exciting was that I had the tonsillitis, but that's something you just have to take!

How was it like playing with Calippo? In what way did he change you play?

Of course we became more like a mix team, but he was absolutely the man for the job! Not only did Calippo win important rounds for us, his pep-talk was unbelievable, I wonder about his throut's condition afterwards...

The WCG qualifier

Let us talk about the WCG qualifier and take it from the beginning. Two wins and one tie against SK. Tell us about your play during the group play, are you satisfied with your performance there?

Yeah, I must say that we are. We advanced without problems, it feels good that nothing unexpected happend. :)

In the semifinals you won against the zaffe powered icsu in two straight matches (16-12, 16-6). Tell us about the match and how it developed! Did it turn out as you expected?

Since we won Dust2 with "only" 16-12 and also played a bit shaky, I'd say it didn't really turn out as we had expected. We thought that we'd have a tougher match on Nuke since that was their map, but fortunately we got our game going and won that one too.

After the icsu win the final against SK was nextcoming match. What were your thoughts before the final?

We knew we could win for sure, especially after yesterday's tie against them. Naturally we expected a really tough final, but we tried to play our own game and I think we succeeded with that part.

An absolutely crushing result on Dust2 with 16-1, which directly afterwards was followed up by a loss (11-16) on the same map – what are one to understand by this?

In the 16-1 win we kicked off by losing the pistol round as terrorists, and then take 14 rounds in a row. As terrorists on Dust2 you can get a nice flow in your play, and that was something we got. After that we simply took the pistol round as CT too. When we later played Dust2 for the second time we couldn't keep ourself concentrated anymore, that's something we have to work on, we also had really bad economy throughout the match and lost several important tight situations, hence it follows by that result. SK simply had the control that time.

What made you win the match, you think? What did you have that SK lacked of?

The hunger, motivation and the will to practise alot.

What do you think about your own play during the qualifier?

The first games I started off pretty stiffly, but I think I came back in a good form just before the finals were to begin. In the whole, I'm satisfied with my performance.

How does it feel to know that you will go to Singapore and represent perhaps the best country in the world in CS?

It actually feels really great. It was absolutely nothing that I thought when I sat home in front of the computer four years ago and saw Kompaniet representing Sweden. I remember reading an interview with Kompaniet when they were at WCG. Then I thought it seemed to be awesome. I never even dreamt of seeing myself going there. :)

CS Source will as we all know be played, what do we think about this?

I have just played Source a tiny bit. I think that the game itself seems to be alot worse than 1.6. But we'll do our best to represent Sweden. It will be alot of Source playing a month ahead. We'll see if I'll change my opinion of the game, but I think I'll prefer version 1.6 even after WCG.

In the first group play you will meet Pentagram, a match you will have to win in order to advance. What do you think about your chances?

It's rather hard to tell since I hardly haven't played the game that will be played. But if our practise will go as planned we will advance from the group without problems.

Thanks for the interview and a big good luck in WCG! Any last words?

Thanks to you too. I want to thank Speed-link and Southpoint for their support, and also everybody who has believed in us!
